Wearing Hijab I do find recognition from other Muslims -- and its nice, for example, to get on a bus and have the driver greet you "As salaam alaykum."
But where I live, it seems few otherwise know what hijab is... they like my head scarves, like or even envy the style, but they don't necessarily associate it with my being Muslim. Then I get even more attention at times from men, too, since I began wearing hijab... I've not been one to have that problem so much as other women have, making me wonder if were I to wear niqab, I'd even get asked on dates? lol
